Biblical Meaning Of Water In Dreams

The water, I feel represents the spiritual realm. It’s hard to give you an exact interp without specifics on the dreams, but I believe you are moving into deep realms of the spirit.

It’s no secret that water is important. Without it, all of us would die within a few days. Because of this, then, water often takes on pretty strong literary elements. Many times, in the form of rain, it can foreshadow something bad or ominous that is going to happen. At other times, it could imply a type of baptism, in which a character undergoes some type of change to his character, usually for the better. But, does this hold water (pun intended) when it comes to the spiritual or biblical meaning of water? What, exactly, can water mean when it is found within the Bible? A good way to find out, like usual, is to look at some passages and glean from what they have to say.

Biblical Meaning Of Water In Dreams

Genesis 7:17 “Now the flood was on the earth forty days. The waters increased and lifted up the ark, and it rose high above the earth.”

As the Genesis story goes, humankind’s sin was so horrendous that God became immensely grieved by it. As a way or purging the evil, He sent a flood to wipe out the wickedness from the earth, except for Noah, his family, and two of every kind of animal. Most of us know this story by heart, as it’s depicted in many children’s books and with a famous movie starring Russell Crowe. However, there is some insight into what water means in the Bible when one reads the passage. Water, here, is used as a purging or cleansing. It appears to be negative, since it is so destructive, yet it was used to literally cleanse the earth away from all that was evil and unholy. Throughout the Scriptures, water often takes on that meaning.

Bible-and-Water

John 4:14 “but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”

In addition to symbolizing some type of cleansing, water also points to satisfaction and life. This is precisely why Jesus is called the “living water,” which is noticeable in this passage. He tells the woman that when people come to Him, they will have complete satisfaction and never thirst for anything else in life. In contrast, when someone drinks physical water, they always need more to sustain their life. With Jesus, though, completeness is given. So, water can point to satisfaction and life, which is just another way of saying that is symbolizes Jesus!

Acts 8:36-38 “Now as they went down the road, they came to some water. And the eunuch said, ‘see, here is water. What hinders me from being baptized?’ Then Philip said, ‘if you believe with all your heart, you may.’ And he answered and said, ‘I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.’ So he commanded the chariot to stand still. And both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water, and he baptized him.”

Water is the medium through which baptism is performed, and it’s extremely fitting. Since water can symbolize cleansing and life, it is perfect to use in baptism. When someone gets baptized, they are submerged under the water for a second, and then come back up. The whole process shows an outward expression of a true inner value; the person is publicly declaring that they have new life in Jesus Christ. All of the past sins and mistakes are dead (symbolic in the act of submerging the person in water) and then raised in newness of life (symbolic in the act of raising the person back up from the water). It is an expression of what has taken place within the heart; a full cleansing and new life.

So, water points to Jesus in many ways. It symbolizes a cleansing which only Jesus can give, a new life which Jesus offers, and is used in baptism to showcase the acceptance of Jesus and the denial of self. The Old Testament shows this, too; it is not exclusive to a New Testament theology. The point to take away, however, is that water does an excellent job at revealing Jesus, who claims to be the Living Water. It is He, and He alone, who can quench the thirsty souls in this world. The fact that water is used symbolically and powerful in the Scriptures just aids in showing us how beautifully written it is and how amazing Jesus is!

Analyzing Water in a Dream

In the example above, the dreamer is “out of reach” from the turbulent waves. She watches them from behind a protective glass window. In fact, she has many dreams where she “observes” the water without going near it. This sounds like someone who notices her choppy emotions but doesn’t really want to explore their meaning.

Depending on the amount of water, the behavior of the water and the dreamer’s distance from the water, it is possible for the dreamer to piece together the meaning and learn what his dream is telling him.

Questions for Dream Interpretation

When you have a dream about water, try to recall answers to the following questions. They may help you discover the lesson your psyche is emphasizing.

* What type of water did you dream about? A large body of water could symbolize deep emotions, while walking in the rain could suggest cleansing.

* What was the behavior of the water in your dream? Turbulent water can suggest turbulent emotions. Water that is muddy or murky could symbolize confused or unclear feelings.

* What was your distance or reaction to the water? If you were lost or drowning in an ocean, you could feel overwhelmed by your emotions. Keeping a safe distance from choppy waves could symbolize emotions that are not being dealt with.

* What is your present emotional state? What new thoughts have been on your mind?

* What does a dream about water symbolize to you?

Types of Dreams Involving Water

There are many ways to dream about water. Sometimes dreamers are fearful of it, resulting in nightmares, but other times it is a pleasurable experience, resulting in dreams of freedom and exploration. The following two dream examples may provide help for your own interpretations.

Swallowed by the Sea

You are out at sea, floating on a small wooden raft alone. The waves have been rougher than usual, and you fear the raft will tip.

Suddenly, a tremendous tidal wave forms and threatens to overwhelm you. Terrified of being swallowed by the sea, you wake with a start.

The vast ocean – with its deep waters, rising and falling tides, and mysterious sea creatures – can be a foreboding place to hang out alone. Floating on the surface of all this, on a flimsy raft, it is no wonder the dreamer fears she could “tip” at any moment. Matters take a turn for the worse when a tremendous tidal wave forms and draws near, threatening her life.

The phrase “swallowed by the sea” conjures an image of being consumed or overwhelmed by a large body of water. When people find themselves in a “sea of trouble,” they usually feel helpless to the situation that threatens to drown them.

In its simplest form, this dream could be a metaphor for emotions that threaten to overwhelm the dreamer in her waking state – especially since she only has a small raft to carry her. Since a tidal wave would likely symbolize an emotional upheaval, the dreamer is probably experiencing some big emotions.

If the dreamer swam through the wave, or saw herself in a sturdy boat, this may provide a clue as to how she is dealing with her emotions. In this case, however, the waves are “rougher than usual” and she is scared of the tidal wave drawing near. Sometimes, our fears feel larger than reality; the dreamer may do well to avoid letting a present situation of concern consume her thoughts and feelings.

Underwater and Breathing

You are in the middle of swimming through an underwater tunnel and holding your breath is becoming more difficult. Just when you think you can’t last another second longer, you take a deep breath. You can breathe under water! When you emerge from the tunnel, you decide to swim free in the ocean and explore it for fun.

This is a delightful dream, and it carries rich symbolism. The dreamer starts out holding his breath because he doesn’t think he can breathe in the water. This may be the same way many people feel when they are about to approach a confrontation, unexpected meeting or difficult situation. Not knowing what will happen, emotions tense, they move forward, “holding their breath.”

The dreamer decides to go for it – he takes a breath because there is no other choice. To his surprise, he can breathe. And the feeling of freedom this provides sends him off on an underwater adventure, free to swim, play and explore.

“These underwater dreams suggest that the dreamer is immersed in emotion,” writes Richmond. “Since he can breathe under water, he is comfortable with his emotional life and feelings.”

Growth Opportunities

Whether it’s a dream or nightmare, the presence of water in any form can indicate how we are handling our unconscious (or conscious) feelings. By tuning into our deepest reservoirs of emotion, we can learn new ways of dealing, which can lead to growth and freedom.

A dreamer who avoids going near the water may feel intimidated by deep emotions and avoid close relationships in her waking hours. The key here is to go near the water – if not directly in it. Whether awake or asleep, allowing uncomfortable emotions to exist while wading into a situation “a little deeper” will yield a new experience. There is the chance of being hurt, but there is also the possible reward that comes with authentic closeness.

Dreams of water that cleanses, quenches or provides adventure can feel liberating. Most of the human body is made of water and, without it, humans couldn’t survive. When dreamers experience fun in the water, they are likely connecting in a healthy way with their spirit and psyche.

Dreams about water remind us that our emotions are a force to be reckoned with. They can open our lives to a deeper, more natural experience, or they can threaten to overwhelm us if left unattended. The good news is, as alarming as water dreams can be, they alert us to parts of ourselves that are open to exploration and growth.

The next time you have a dream about water, jump in! When you wake, analyze the language of your dreams and discover what new challenges await you.

Biblical Meaning Of Raccoon

Seeing a raccoon in your dream is a favorable sign, which foretokens success in your business life (a profitable project) and a promotion. Congratulations! Finally, your hard efforts are crowned with success. If you don’t get it in the nearest future, don’t hang down your head. Remember that all our efforts and sincere endeavors will be obligatory acknowledged and awarded sooner or later.

Yet, there can be a situation that you’ve been working hard for many years but you’re still told that you aren’t ready to hold a higher position. If you know for sure that it doesn’t correspond to the reality and you’re open for more, then switch this job to the one where your services will be paid high tribute you deserve. Take your life under your control.

Biblical Meaning Of Raccoon

raccoon dream 2

To dream of a raccoon represents an aspect of your personality that is aware of its unsavory behavior. You or someone else that is aware of how dishonest or underhanded they are, but doesn’t feel there is anything wrong with it. Knowing that you are acting negative and not feeling there is anything wrong with it. Being negative out in the open or not being concerned with hiding your bad intentions.

Raccoons are often symbols that appear when we are focusing on other people’s negativity, taking behind people’s backs, or totally at ease with lying or cheating. A raccoon may also reflect a “player” in your life.

Example: A girl dreamed of seeing raccoons while walking with a guy she liked. In real life she felt this guy was “playing” her as he seemed to flirt with other girls as well. The raccoons reflecting her view of this guy being aware of his dishonest flirting.

RACCOON: SEEKING PURITY IN A DIRTY WORLD

The world is getting dirtier as the second coming of Jesus approaches. God’s eternal anger will soon descend upon the ungodly, and this earth will give way to the new one. To this end, brother Peter raises a poser: “Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in all holy conversation and godliness” 2 Peter 3:11, (AKJV).

Brother Peter’s poser is a question, a rhetorical question, that you don’t need to answer but deeply think about and make adjustment where necessary in the light of the issue being raised. Now, the issue has to do with the need to be holy and godly in an unholy and ungodly world.

The Racoon

Recently I meditated on the animal called raccoon. Do you know raccoon? A ray of light struck my heart; the Lord illuminated my heart to receive an instruction from the animal. And I wish to share this light with you. I believe the light will empower us to travel through this wide wicked world victoriously.

Raccoon is a small-sized mammal native to North America. It has a body length of 40 to 70 cm (16 to 28 in) and a body weight of 3.5 to 9 kg (8 to 20 lb). Its grayish coat mostly consists of dense under-fur  which insulates against cold weather. Raccoons are omnivorous; they feed on virtually anything eatable.

Now, a  raccoon has two outstanding qualities that have spiritual implications for believers. They are intelligence and the ability to douse whatever it wants to eat in water before eating it.

Intelligence

Merriam-Webster defines intelligence as  the ability to learn or understand things or to deal with new or difficult situations. Naturally God endows raccoons with unusual intelligence in the animal world. They are able to identify objects before touching them with vibrissae located above their sharp, non- retractable claws. Also, they can remember the solution to tasks for up to three years. They are described as clever beasts.

In these last days, how can you survive the coming challenges without possessing spiritual intelligence?  Jesus warned His early disciples to be wise as serpent because they are being sent into the world as sheep in the midst of wolves. Is this warning not relevant to you today?

Consider how thick the cloud of confusion covers everywhere today. People call black white today. A boy may wake up and say he is a girl. And rather than helping him become free from illusion, the world will pat him in the back and make him a hero.

Test all spirits! The Bible warns. Raccoons do perceive and identify objects before touching it. Before you jump at so called opportunities, open door, or blessings, you ought to find out the spirit behind it. Is it the Holy Spirit or an evil spirit? Note that not all beautiful things come from God. Even an angel of Satan can disguise as that of light.

The situation of things has grown worse that even the Holy Bible is being tampered with. The agents of the devil are now publishing diluted Bibles today. If you download a Bible application or buy a Bible in shops, you have to check it very well to be sure that you are not reading fake bible.

Dousing

One attribute of raccoon that is so well known and that gives the animal part of its scientific name, Procyon lotor; “lotor” is neo-Latin for “washer”. In the wild, raccoons often dabble for underwater food near the shore-line. They then often pick up the food item with their front paws to examine it and rub the item, sometimes to remove unwanted parts. This gives the appearance of the raccoon “washing” the food.

Raccoons eat different things, but they take efforts to cleanse it. It appears that the animal recognizes that the environment is dirty. So, by instinct, it seeks to feed on food that is pure always.

Should we not learn from raccoons? For instance, John wondered about the vision of people the angel showed him in heaven.  The Bible says,”And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb”  Revelation 7:14, (AKJV).

If we are going to make heaven like those saints, we must cultivate the habit of washing our robe everyday. The Bible further says, “Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy” Revelation 3:4, (AKJV).

The term robe or garment refers to the character of the believers. To wash one’s garment therefore implies that one is living according to the requirement of the word of God. Once the raccoon picks an object, it will run to the river to douse it before it will consume it.

Therefore, we must daily wash our lives by learning the word of God regularly. The word of God will correct and straighten our lives before God.  Remember, Jesus said to His disciples one day, “Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you” John 15:3, (KJV).   Any time you think raccoon, remember what it says: Seek purity in a dirty world so you may be fit for the new and holy world. Remain blessed!

intelligent and friendly creature

There is a very intelligent and friendly creature who usually lives near swamps and creeks. He has a funny face with a sort of mask over it. Maybe that is his disguise, for I am told that he can be quite a bandit! Even so, the raccoon is playful and loves to eat. Raccoons eat frogs, shrimp, and other shellfish. They also like corn, which gets them into  trouble with man. They also eat eggs, fruit, meat, and nuts. Raccoons are very clean about their food. When water is near, they wash their food before eating.

Do you watch what you take in to make sure it is clean? Now, I am not talking about food only. There are other things we take into our lives—things we see, things we hear, things we read. There is a lot of dirt and filth, wrong thinking and bad talk in this world. Those who are wise are careful—careful about what they watch on TV, in videos, online, or read in books, careful about what kinds of stories and jokes they listen to and tell, careful about what things they think. The Bible says, [Philippians 4:8] “whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praisethink on these things.”

It is good to wash what you eat. It is very important to watch what you take into your life.

Biblical Meaning Of Dreams About Being Pregnant

Biblical meaning of dreams about being pregnant

Deuteronomy 28:4, 11, Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.  And the Lord shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers to give thee.

Pregnancy in the dream While it could be a good sign for every expected mother. Having a baby is one of the common prayers of every woman. And in fact, baby is the soul of marriages.  If you are a pregnant woman at the moment, dreaming of pregnancy can portend a positive meaning to some extent. But if you are not pregnant, and you keep seeing yourself being pregnant then the spiritual meaning is marital problem.

Dream that you or someone else is pregnant

To dream that you or someone else is pregnant represents something new that is developing in your life. A new way of thinking, new ideas, new goals, projects, or a new life situation. Preparations, choices, or consequences are leading towards a new life situation. A period of gestation of ideas or plans. A development phase that is sensitive. Carrying within you new life that may be in the form of a book, project, or new lifestyle. A time of transition. Feelings about a “new self” that is about to emerge. Contemplating making a big change.

dreams about being pregnant

A pregnancy in a dream also reflect some area of your life where more of something is being increased or produced. Artists often dream of being pregnant when they are starting a new work of art.

Negatively, being pregnant may reflect a new problem that is developing or a problem that is creating more problems. Watching the gestation of an event in your life that makes you jealous or scared. Feeling that a change in your life was not by choice and can’t be denied.

To dream about trying to get pregnant may represent your desire or wish for something in your life to develop. A wish to get something that’s important to you started.

If you are actually pregnant in real life then dreams of being pregnant may reflect your heightened anxiety or concerns about issues related to the pregnancy.

To dream of being pregnant with twins may represent feelings about developments in your life that will bring conflict. Expectations of conflict or arguments. Expectations for opposite opinions once a development or plan is completed. Feeling that once something in your life completes that you and someone else will think they are better than the other.

Example: A woman dreamed of seeing a pregnant women. In waking life she was an author that had come up with a new idea for a book to write.

What does the Bible say about pregnancy?

Pregnancy begins the moment a male sperm cell fertilizes a female egg within a woman’s body. In that moment, an embryo is formed. Within a few days, that embryo implants in the uterus and begins to grow and develop. For human beings, the length of pregnancy averages 280 days, or 36 weeks. Since the human race is propagated through pregnancies, in accordance with God’s blessing and command in Genesis 1:28, we should expect the Bible to have something to say about pregnancy—and it does.

The first recorded human pregnancy occurred when Eve conceived and gave birth to Cain (Genesis 4:1). Many pregnancies followed as humanity increased upon the earth, but the Bible does not give us any details of those pregnancies until the account of Abram (Abraham) and Sarai (Sarah) in Genesis 11:30: “Now Sarai was childless because she was not able to conceive.” God highlights Sarai’s barrenness, as well as their old age (Genesis 18:11), to show that He was about to do something special. God gave Abraham and Sarah a son, Isaac, who was truly a miracle.

What we learn from Scripture about pregnancy is that God is the Author of life. He is intimately involved in the conception and development of every human being. Psalm 139:13–16 speaks of His direct involvement: “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”

Baby or pregnant

Both men and women can have this type of dream.  Most of the time it is not a literal dream but symbolic.  It’s God talking about birthing something new into your life.  It could be a new job, a gift, an anointing, ministry, creativity, or even a clever invention.

Here are a few examples of baby or pregnancy dreams:

  • There is more than one baby involved, such as twins or triplets.
This indicates that the new thing coming will be of greater magnitude: double, triple or even quadruple.
  • The baby newly born is soon walking or has a full head of hair and teeth.
This is showing that the new thing coming to you will mature and happen quickly.
  • The baby is not alive or needs to be resuscitated.
This is showing you that there is something that God is trying to do through you but it is being stopped or needs help to get it going again.
  • Someone gives you a baby or you find one.
This indicates that a gift or something new that has been neglected or let go is coming into your hands.
  • Your daughter is pregnant (she’s unmarried).
The fact that she is not married yet is irrelevant. Your daughter has something new coming into her life.
  • God is creative and loves to do new things for His children.
If you are having baby or pregnancy dreams, pay attention to the new thing in your life. God is encouraging you in it.

Happy dreaming!

Biblical Meaning Of Rats In Dreams

Biblical Meaning Of Rats In Dreams. The symbol of rats penetrating into your dreams mean something unpleasant  is about to happen. In the spiritual world, rats indicate enemy of progress. The meaning of rats in the dream has been programmed by the devil to curse the hands of many people. That’s why a person can have millions of money today and within a short time, the whole money is gone, leaving the person with nothing.

What’s the Biblical meaning of rats in dreams?

Biblically the rat is not mentioned that much as I already said. We assume it is a symbol of negativity, lack of material goods, and of course this follows a lack of money. I’m not sure that one needs to take the biblical interpretation too seriously. I am a true believer of remaining positive. To see a rat in your dream means that you owe something to someone in your life. It also symbolizes slavery and financial loss, according to verses in Samuel. Also, it’s believed that the symbolism rats were programed by Satan to put people in debt and commit sin. It explains why people have millions now and can lose everything in a second.

To see a rat in a dream can cause discomfort. It’s not a nice experience and it’s seen as a bad omen. The Biblical meaning of rats in dreams from my 1930s dream books is that rats come in a man’s dream in order to change his/her destiny. Meaning, the person will probably turn into a slave of money and fight poverty. As you know, every animal has a message to deliver in dreams.

Rats as a symbol represent sickness, debt, hardship, dirt, sin, and the Devil. It is in their nature to ruin people’s food through contamination and eating.

They also enter people’s homes (or sheds) to seek something. Although they live with us, they still pollute our food and spread diseases. But there’s a difference between a physical and a spiritual rat. The first one’s after food, while the second one causes suffering.

The rat represents a symbol of sorrow, disease, and sickness because of the dirty places it lives and the bacteria it carries. To see one in your dream means that you will survive a difficult time or even a breakdown. It’s all part of Satan’s plan (according to biblical transcripts). But you’ll pull through.

If a rat steals your money in a dream, it means that your happiness and blessings will be stolen from you in waking life. A spiritual rat may cause you to borrow money and stay in debt for the rest of your life. It can bring you down to a zero level. However, don’t forget that you’re in charge of your life. If you fight your demons, you can win.

To conclude, the meaning of rats in dreams is associated with poverty and misfortune. One dream of rats can keep you stay stuck in one place for the rest of your life if you’re not strong enough to fight back your demons. As you can see, rats have a mission. And that’s to torment people and prevent them from accomplishing their destiny. But never forget who’s really in charge of your life. And that’s yourself.

DREAM ABOUT RATS

Rat dream is a symbol of sickness and disease because its an animal that carries the loads of bacteria or disease in their body. A dream about rat occurs when a person is planning to be attacked by the devil but in others may interpret as failure at the edge of breakthrough. The witchcraft power uses the dream of rat to steal people’s blessings and cage them. It is tragic when a rat steal your money in the dream. Sometime the enemy project many rats into people’s house through dream as a means of satanic hijackers of their virtues.

Ordinarily, rat would not come to your house and take away your important documents, money etc except they are witchcraft rats sent to make you cry. It is very difficult for a person to know which powers are attacking them through the process of rat dream. Some spiritual rats can cause a man to borrow for the rest of his life. Some spiritual rats can bring down a man to a zero level. The reason the enemy often engages them spiritually because they are household animals. Rat is a scary animal to many people. These are spiritual rats that are dangerous to reckon with the physical if you are not too strong spiritually. It’s true that the spirit of rat can influence a person’s destiny both physically and spiritually. To be quite honest with you, spiritual rat involves radical prayers and fasting.

Nothing may seem to be happening in the physical after having the dream, but it’s evil effect will surely affect the source of your income. This demonic dream can slow down your progress and frustrate your efforts. The powers can influence the rat to monitor and transfer your wealth to the demonic bank. The Bible says the following, “But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way” Matthew 13:25. The evil tares has now become an heavy burden to many people.

DREAM ABOUT RATS – Spiritual meaning

The meaning of rat in the dream was clearly indicating a spirit of poverty and lack against you. However, many people have remained poor or begging as result of this dream. Any contact with rats in the dream without any resistance on your part automatically opens the door of demotion and profitless hard labour. Many people are not fulfilling their destiny because  they have been programmed to remain in one spot. The spirit of rat is tormenting many people.

Those demons can deal with any person in the dream and if the person cannot resist the dream, the person would finds it hard to excel. This spiritual rats suck people’s prosperity and when they have no power to deliver themselves, they received the spirit of lack, want and poverty. What does it mean to dream of many rats around you in the dream Many rats in the dream symbolizes the spirit of satanic oppression.

If you see many rats around you signifies there are enemies around who are planning for your destruction. If the rats invade your house, it is attributed as sickness, anxiety and shock.  This dream can be a wakeup call to pray against household witches and wizards. What does it mean to dream of chasing rats?  If you dream of chasing rats, it symbolizes battle against Beelzebub spirit. To chase rats in the dream ,it indicates a situation of chasing away problems. This dream is a sign that a bad spirit is trying to penetrate into you, but the power of God didn’t allow the enemy’s agenda to come to pass. When you dream of chasing rats, it is of no doubt a symbol of victory over stubborn challenges and demonic operations.

What Does It Mean When Cats Rub Against You

This universal cat behavior is a compliment, experts say, because your cat communicates with you and marks you as its relatives.”Cats define their worlds with scent,” says Marilyn Krieger, a certified cat behavior consultant in California, also known as The Cat Coach. “It’s a way to identify their families, their friends and also their enemies. When a cat runs into you, it trades in your scent. It reinforces that you are a part of (their) group. It’s very sweet.”

Why do cats rub against you? Long-term messages of odor mixing.

why-do-cats-rub-against-you

Cats have scent glands that secrete pheromones in various parts of their body, including their cheeks, tails, foreheads, soles of feet, and anal areas. When they rub something or someone, they deposit this scent and it lingers, says Amy Shojai, a certified animal behavior consultant in Texas.

Fragrance communication not only signals something when the cat goes through the movements, but the stinking message also sticks with long-term communication,” says Shojai.

“For other forms of communication, the cat and the other party must be present, for example, to see the friendly tail desire, or to hear the mustache and hiss,” says Shojai, the author of more than 30 animal care books, including COMPETENCE: Solving Behavior Problems in your household with multiple cats. “Vocal communication can only take one breath at a time,” she says. “But the scent continues to communicate even when the cat has left the building.”

Cat rubbing can also be a matter of claiming territory, but it goes beyond that, says Shojai. Territorial marking is more focused on objects and spaces and is usually related to rubbing and rubbing against the cheek.

What Does It Mean When Cats Rub Against You? To mark members of their tribe.

In colonies of ferocious cats, the feline mark each other as members of their tribe by rubbing and covering their heads under each other. This is a form of communication and acceptance, says Krieger. When cats transmit this behavior to humans, they mix their scents with ours and also claim acceptance. If a cat doesn’t love you, she probably won’t rub you, says Krieger.

When cats rub you, they say, “You are part of the group, I am part of you, we are all part of the same group,” she says.

Do cats target different places to rub on purpose?

Cats do not really focus on certain human body parts with different messages; they usually just go to which area is accessible, says Krieger.

However, if a cat rubs your face, it feels more intimate and it might be something that a cat only does if he especially likes you. One of the most striking cat rubs is head bones, that’s when cats bump their heads on you with oomph. This, Shojai says, signals, “I am your friend.”

“Not only does the head-moving / bunting behavior leave pheromones behind that identify friendly encounters, it also places the cat’s face and eyes in vulnerable positions,” she says. “So, it’s not only expressing kindness, but also trust. Usually it’s the most confident cat that also offers head bunting.”

Cats also like to walk close to us and rub their entire bodies against our legs. They often end this by wrapping their tails around our legs. “This is, again, a friendly greeting between cats, and by extension, the people they love and trust,” says Shojai.

Do you want your cat to rub against you? Strengthen the behavior!

As long as your cats don’t roll up your sleeves, you’ll probably enjoy it when they bump into you. Pet your cats if they rub against you to reinforce and reward behavior, Krieger recommends.

“When cats come to you

and they haven’t seen you all day and they rub you on the legs – if you stroke them automatically, you reinforce that behavior and bring your scent back to the cat, “she says.” They enjoy the affection and find it she likes it. “

Why does a cat actually give cups?

Why does a cat actually give cupsAlmost all cats give cups. Maybe you have noticed that they give cups in different ways? That’s right, cats can mean different things to it.

Leave cups and scent

Scents are very important for the cat and are the most important means of communication. That is why a cat has scent glands in several parts of the body. They sit around the mouth, between the soles of the feet, at the tail base and around the anus. By rubbing something along, a cat puts off its scent. Have you ever seen those black greasy sweeps at doorposts or other places where the cat often passes by?

To draw attention

When a cat comes to you or sits on the couch with you, it usually gives ‘headbutts’. She pushes her forehead against your cheek or chin. This can vary from a light touch to a heavy headbump, but is always meant to be friendly. She saves this behavior for cats and people with whom she has a good relationship and leaves her scent as a social gesture.
Some cats use this form of head giving as attention-grabbing behavior , as owners usually respond enthusiastically to this expression of affection.

Give cups for greeting

When you get home, your cat will greet you. Sometimes she stands on her hind legs and gives cups with her forehead, but she can also stroke your legs, pull the tail along your calves and rub against you. This does not mean that she wants to make you a ‘property’, this is also a form of greeting and serves to renew the group scent.
Cats greet each other in a similar way: first smell nose to nose, then rub them with the flanks and then with the tails alongside each other. They usually end up sniffing under each other’s tails. That is politeness in cat language, so don’t be surprised if your own cat regularly holds her butt under your nose!

Stress

Items in the house also regularly receive cups, although it is actually more likely to rub their lips somewhere. This way, the cat releases its own scent, making it feel safe. These odor traces must be refreshed regularly, otherwise the odor will evaporate. Not to mention the staff who regularly go to all those places with a cloth and remove the precious smell! Low objects are usually marked by rubbing them with the chin.
Even with stress between cats or with fear of cats outside, a cat can give more cups to give itself a sense of safety.
